Record a journal entry of how you used one of our in-class focus blocks.  What did you accomplish during this time? What did you struggle with? What might be your next step in your focus block? Set a goal.

Journal Entry: December 8

In this work block, I completed a lot of reading and research. I spent most of the block reading through Sarah Norton’s ESSAY ESSENTIALS WITH READINGS and an assignment about rhetoric assigned by Mr. Morris. During the block, I continuously read and digested the information before paraphrasing it into my notebook. I had accomplished a lot because I wrote down little snippets of information (about writing persuasively) and examples on how to properly execute and use them persuasively. One of the major struggles I faced was when I realized that it was quite hard to pinpoint the info I was looking for. I could find a lot of info in many books, but it was all scattered. There was no key source of info where I could base most of my question on. This resulted in me scavenging through many articles and studies. My next goal is to continue paraphrasing concepts and ideas that I would like to talk about in my ZIP presentation. I plan to finish up my research on rhetoric by next class.
